PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Do I need planning permission? How do I get planning permission? These are the questions we get asked most frequently and for a good reason. Get it the right first time.


Even for medium-sized building projects such as extensions, gaining planning permission can be a headache if you're unprepared. The wheels of bureaucracy turn slowly, and even the smoothest application can take at least two months to complete, so it's essential to get it right the first time, as a resubmission could cost you a further three to six-month delay.

BUILDING WARRANT APPLICATIONS

In addition to planning permission, you will also need to apply for a building warrant from the local council before you can start building work on your home.

While planning permission focuses on how the external structure of your home will look, to get a building warrant, you will need to show that the design of your home (both inside and outside) will meet all the requirements of the latest domestic building regulations.

Highland Architectural Service wants to make your experience when dealing with an application as stress-free as possible not to mention as cost-effective as possible, this is why Highland Architectural Service will only ever charge for the design service provided and will not add any additional costs or margins for sourcing third party involvement even if Highland Architectural Service still manages this.



For example, your planning application may require a full site investigation report to gain approval, this can be sourced, managed, and submitted by Highland Architectural Service, however, all quotes and invoices for the works can be direct to yourself, so you know your not having to cover additional margins for services sourced by Highland Architectural Service.
