Searching the site
Searching Findit.scotsman.com is very straightforward. There are a few ways to find the service or business you require, some of which can be combined to produce accurate results.
Basic keyword search
The easiest way to look for something, is simply to use "keywords". If you are looking for a plumber, type "plumber" and you will be offered all the plumbers in the directory.
Distance search
However in addition, the directory can be narrowed down to listings which are closest to you. After typing keywords (and even if you have some search results already), you can enter a distance in miles, followed by your postcode - and the results will be narrowed down to listings within that particular area.
Location search
Lastly there is also a 'locality' search, which will find listings within a particular town or city. To use this, leave the 'postcode' blank, and type in a town or city name - you will be given results where the address includes that location.
